Graduated dental technician in 1978. He began his activity as laboratory owner in 1984 in Bologna. AIOP President in the two-year period 2019-2020. Member of the American Prosthodontic Society. Scientific Director of Quintessence Dental Technology. His activity, mainly oriented towards the use of composite and ceramic in all its aspects, metal free and metal – ceramic, also applied to implantology, takes place at the Castellano Dental Laboratory, of which he is the owner. He collaborates with the Conservative Department (director Prof. L. Breschi) of the Dental Clinic of the University of Bologna for the creation of aesthetic adhesive prostheses and follows advanced research projects within the Master in Aesthetic Conservative Dentistry. He also collaborates with Prof. L. Breschi in the creation of minimally invasive aesthetic projects. Passionate about photography and computing related to image processing, he uses these tools daily in his professional practice, in the constant search for a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, making use of modern technologies at the service of diagnostics and modeling. He conceived and created the “SmileApp” application for iPad, for the virtual preview of the smile, addressed to the dental-dental technician sector. He uses digital technologies to support his daily practice. He is speaker and author of national and international publications on prosthetic topics.
