Treatment of the edentulous patient based on appropriateness: comparison between analogue and digital solutions

The removable prosthesis has always been the basic solution for the functional and aesthetic restoration of the edentulous patient. Today its application, especially in the treatment of older patients, cannot be separated from the use of simplified protocols. In fact, their application both in analog and digital, has now demonstrated a high predictability and reliability; moreover, thanks to the use of osseointegrated implants, even simplified treatments can be made more effective by improving masticatory performance and the quality of life of patients both in the case of total and partial edentulism. During this in-depth analysis, various clinical cases will be discussed, carried out both using simplified protocols and with implant-assisted prosthesis. Attention will be focused on the clinical procedures necessary for the planning and implementation of total and partial removable rehabilitations in order to provide the laboratory with all the data necessary to be able to optimize chair times and to be able to guarantee the creation of a high quality product that allows easy adaptation to the patient.
