Hosaka Keiichi | Prof. Dr.

Professor and Chair, Department of Conservative Dentistry, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tokushima University, Japan
Prof. Keiichi Hosaka received his DDS (2003) and PhD (2007) from Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), where he trained under Prof. Junji Tagami. In 2005, he was a visiting scholar at the Medical College of Georgia under the mentorship of Prof. David H. Pashley and was appointed Assistant Professor at TMDU in 2008.
Since 2021, he has been Professor and Chair at Tokushima University and also serves as Director of Conservative Dentistry at Tokushima University Hospital. He was also appointed as Professor at the Institute of Post-LED Photonics, Tokushima University, in 2023, and has held international research positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the ADA Forsyth Institute in the USA. He is concurrently an Affiliated Researcher at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
Prof. Hosaka has delivered numerous invited lectures and hands-on courses at international conferences and universities across Asia, Europe, and the United States, and serves as an instructor for the 2026 FDI World Dental Federation Continuing Education Program. He received the Academic Award from the Japanese Society of Conservative Dentistry in 2020.
His research focuses on adhesive dentistry, direct composite restorations, and digitally integrated restorative workflows. His recent work particularly emphasizes improving trueness and precision in composite injection techniques through advanced index design and digital workflows. He is also the Chief Dental Officer of Amidex Inc., a university-based startup developing innovative technologies for precision-guided composite restorations.
